AOD Privacy Statement

The Archdiocese of Detroit (“AOD”) respects and protects the privacy rights of all individuals associated with parishes, schools, organizations, and/or workplaces falling within the auspices of the AOD. All non-public information related to these individuals is kept confidential, and is only used for purposes that fulfill the mission and direction of the AOD. Reasonable steps are taken to protect non-public information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, or alteration.

The AOD recognizes and prioritizes the responsibility to secure and protect any data that is accessible, created, or shared by and/or with the AOD. This commitment extends to the use of data as well as the maintenance of physical, electronic and procedural security measures. Any non-public information collected by, for, or under the auspices of the AOD is considered the property of the AOD and will not be provided to or sold to any third party, except as required by law or as otherwise permitted by this policy or in other AOD privacy and data security policies.

The AOD may distribute aggregated statistical information for reporting purposes, but personally identifiable information will not be distributed publicly.

Access to non-public information is granted only to those employees and/or third party contractors of the AOD that need access in order to perform job duties and/or to provide services for AOD entities. These employees and third parties agree, understand, and accept this policy in conjunction with the “Computer Policies and Procedures for the Archdiocese of Detroit” and other privacy and data security policies.
